Our mission is to encourage and motivate former students of Waxahachie High School to reunite with their classmates, teachers, and friends, and to support current WISD graduates in achieving their higher educational goals through recognition and scholarships.

Terry Connor Class of '67

 Terry Connor has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2017 and is currently serving his second year as President and Chair of the Athletic Hall of Fame. 


Terry is a 1967 WHS graduate and was a member of the 1967 state semi-finalist basketball team. He attended NTSU (now University of North Texas), and was a member of the NTSU basketball team.  He served in the US Army and is a Vietnam Veteran.


Terry currently owns Connor Benefits and has been in the employee benefits arena since 1973.  Terry is married to Randi and is the proud dad of Nicholas.  He has two grandsons, Jonathan and Grayson, of whom he is equally proud.


Terry is an advocate for all things related to helping the youth of the community whether it be sports or academics.

carolyn roberts jenkins Class of '60

Carolyn Roberts Jenkins is a member of the WHS Class of 1960 and has been a member of the Board of Directors for over 20 years is currently serving her second year as Vice-President of the Association.   Carolyn is a vital part of the Ex-Students' Association and her knowledge of Waxahachie Alumni is matched by no others.


Carolyn has owned and operated The Hair House since 1975.  Carolyn's brother Billy was a member of the Class of '59.  Both of Carolyn's children graduated from WHS; Patsy  a member of the Class of '80 and Scott with the Class of '83.   


Carolyn has watched the involvement within the Association grow over the last few years and is excited to see what else is to come for our Alumni.

CARRIE TURNER LEWIS CLASS OF '84

Carrie Turner Lewis has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2017.  She is currently serving her second term as Secretary and Chair of the Publications Committee. This year she will also serve as a Homecoming Committee Co-Chair. Carrie has been a paralegal for over twenty-five years and spent most of her legal career in Dallas. She recently moved her career back to Waxahachie and is excited to be able to spend more time getting involved in the many events and festivities happening in her hometown! 


Routed in tradition, Carries’s family bleeds GREEN thru and thru. She is a proud member of the Class of '84, married to Lee (Class of '83) and is the proud mom of Cassie (Class of '02). As a member of the board, it is her hope to help build a program that will honor all graduates past, present and future. This mission is very dear to her heart as her granddaughters, future WHS graduates Cidney (Class of 2024) and Cadynce (Class of 2026) learn the traditions of WISD; while she also honors and recognizes the past led by her father Mike (Class of ‘61) and mother Lou (Class of ‘62).

CINDY TURNER SMITH Class of '80

 Cindy Turner Smith has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2014 and is currently serving her third year as Association's Treasurer.   Cindy is a 1980 graduate of WHS, graduated with honors from SMU's Southwestern School of Banking and is serving in her 38th year with CNB of Texas, holding the position of Executive Vice President.


The list of Cindy's community commitments includes serving as chairman of the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce, board tenures with the Waxahachie Foundation, United Way, WISD Education Foundation, WISD Partners in Education, YMCA, Special Olympics and many other civic acts of goodwill.


"There is and always will be a place in my heart for education and giving back for all I received as a Waxahachie student,  parent and volunteer."   "Once an Indian ALWAYS an Indian."

Robert Aday Class of '68

Bob Aday has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1993 and has served as Chair of the Honors & Award Committee since 2002.  


Since returning to Waxahachie in 1990, Bob has served many community organizations in Waxahachie and his list of civic service is endless. He has been involved in the Board for Rotary Club of Waxahachie, Education Foundation, Chamber of Commerce, YMCA, Civil Service Commission (which manages the police and fire departments), Partners in Education Board.  In 2018, Bob was selected into Waxahachie Ex-Students' Association Hall of Fame by his '68 Classmates.

david jordan Class of '78

David Jordan is a member of the Class of '78 and joined the Board in 2019.  Since joining the Board, David has served as a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee and will be serving on the Homecoming Committee this year.


David is a life-long resident of Waxahachie, married to Susan and has 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren.  David is the Plant Manager at Larkin Products in Waxahachie and is owner of The Ice Chest located on Howard Road.  In his spare time, David enjoys bird watching and hunting.  


David's goal for the Association is to get more Alumni involved and help to grow the membership.

shelley greene raney CLASS OF '79

Shelley Green Raney joined the Board in 2020.   Shelley is a 1979 WHS graduate who was born and raised in Waxahachie.  Shelley has been married for 40 years to her high school sweetheart, Steve, and together they have 3 children who all graduated from WHS.  Her 4 grandchildren also all attend Waxahachie schools. 


Shelley attended Navarro College and the University of Texas at Arlington. Her past work career involved employment with two investment banking firms and a global technology consulting company. Shelley and Steve own and manage their Waxahachie based roofing company, Synergy Roofing, for more than 10 years. With deep Waxahachie roots, she is well connected with the Waxahachie community and is excited to give back by working with the alumni program.

DOLLY GAROUTTE CLEMMONS Class of '80

Dolly Garoutte Clemmons joined the Board in 2019 and currently serves on the Scholarship and Athletic Hall of Fame committees.   Dolly has deep roots in Waxahachie and is a WHS graduate of the Class of 1980.  She is proud to have many family members who are WHS alumni and grandchildren who currently attend Waxahachie schools.


Dolly is honored to give back to WISD by serving on the board of this important organization.

DEBBIE CAMARILLO GISH CLASS OF '84

Debbie Camarillo Gish joined the Board in 2020 and will be serving as Co-Chair of the Homecoming Committee.  


Debbie has been affiliated with WISD for over 30 years both as a teacher and administrator and was recently selected into Waxahachie Ex-Students' Association Who’s Who by her ’84 Classmates.    While at WISD,  Debbie helped thousands of students graduate to the next level, and she also encouraged her own children to enter the field of education. Debbie volunteered countless hours at WISD events and at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, where she is a member.  Since retiring from WISD in 2019, Debbie has enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  


Debbie is a dedicated individual that wants to continue giving back to WISD by serving on this Board.

CHUCK SULLINS CLASS OF '84

Chuck Sullins joined the Board in 2019. Chuck graduated from WHS in 1984 and was recently selected into Waxahachie Ex-Students' Association Who’s Who by his ’84 Classmates.   

  

In 1989, Chuck joined the Coast Guard and decided if given the chance, he would try to do and see things no one else really gets an opportunity to do.  After 26 years, Chuck retired from the US Coast Guard in 2018 as a Chief Storekeeper.  During his service career in the Coast Guard, Chuck received many ribbons and medals including : Global War Terror Service Medal, Achievement Medal w/ 1 Gold Star, Commendation Medal, Unit Commendation Ribbon w/3 Gold Stars, Meritorious Commendation Ribbon w/3 Gold Stars, National Defense Service Medal w/1 Bronze Star, Humanitarian Service Medal w/1 Bronze Star, and Rifle Expert Medal. He was awarded Coast Guardsman of the Year for Communication Station while stationed in Kodiak, Alaska and was also named Enlisted Coast Guard Person of the Year in 2008.    Volunteering over 6000 hours Chuck has also been awarded the US Military Outstanding Volunteering Service Medal and we are honored to have Chuck continue to volunteer his time to the Ex-Students’ Association.

JILL CHAPMAN CLASS OF '87

Jill Chapman joined the Board in 2020 and will be serving as part of the Scholarship Committee this year.   

 

Jill has worked in Waxahachie ISD for 28 years in several capacities, including teacher, campus administrator, and is currently serving in the curriculum department as the Advanced Academics Coordinator. After many years of service and dedication, she plans to retire in June 2020.

 

Jill participates in Historic Waxahachie, Inc. and Gardener’s Ltd.  Coming from a long line of WHS graduates and Hall of Fame inductees, Jill is honored to be serving on the Board of Directors.

Jenny Thompson Wilhoite Class of '90

Jenny Thompson Wilhoite joined the Board in 2019 and has been involved with all aspects of the Association. Recently, she took on the lead role of our annual luncheon for the Association - and it was widely successful. Jenny is a 1990 graduate of WHS, and while at WHS, she played volleyball all 4 years and was class favorite Sophomore year. 

 

Jenny has been married 30 years to Rodney Wilhoite (Class of ’84), and they have two daughters, Anna (Class of ’15) and Ellie (future Class of ’23). 

 

Jenny ended her full time career with the Waxahachie YMCA in 2006 and had previously worked for Ellis County Justice of the Peace, Pct 2, Baylor Hospital, Our Children’s House and Sleep Diagnostics of North Texas.  Jenny is currently a Vacation Consultant with Expedia CruiseShipCenters. 

 

In addition to being a member of the Board, Jenny is currently involved with the WHS Cheer Boosters and is working with her fellow classmates to plan their 30 Year Class Reunion.

 

Jenny parents were both WHS graduates, as well as her brother and sister, so WISD is very near and dear to Jenny's heart.  As Jenny says . . . I will always bleed green!

Sean Cagle Class of '91

Sean Cagle joined the Board in 2019 and is in his second year as Chair of the Fine Arts Hall of Fame Committee.  


Sean is a 1991 graduate of Waxahachie High School and has been teaching for WISD since 1999 (with a short 2 year hiatus for graduate school).   While at WISD, Sean has taught grades 8-12, with subjects including 8th grade math, pre-algebra, algebra, algebra 2, pre-calculus, art 1-4, painting, and ceramics and served as the Fine Arts Department Chairman.   Currently, Sean is serving as an Assistant Principal at Waxahachie High School.

Renee McNeal Class of ’98

Renee McNeal joined the Board in 2020.  Renee is a 1998 WHS graduate who was a very dedicated and talented volleyball player. Renee is a dedicated advocate of education and has served on the WISD Long Range Planning Committee, which helped create the most beneficial plan for Waxahachie schools and students.  Renee’s favorite mantra and approach to life is “The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence.” Renee is a selfless and passionate person.  In 2017, Renee was selected as a recipient of the Daily Light’s first 40-Under-40 award. For the past eight years, Renee has volunteered for WISD’s Adopt-a-Class initiative, visiting classrooms to tutor & mentor third-grade students.

Kim Volentine Gerich Class of ’04

Kim Volentine Gerich joined the Board in 2020 and is a proud 2004 graduate of Waxahachie High School. Waxahachie is home and the strong sense of pride and dedication to WISD is apparent in her family line. 


Since graduation, Kim has enjoyed helping with the Fine Arts department. Kim’s bother, Forrest Swanson (Class of ’12), is well on his way to creating his theatre career and Kim says that she is grateful to the WISD Fine Arts Department for creating a solid foundation for her brother to thrive. Kim's dad, Dewayne Volentine (Class of '86) and uncle coached and taught in Waxahachie for over 20 years, so Kim grew up learning how to be a true Indian fan and spent many of her days displaying her Hachie pride.  

  

Kim now volunteers for WISD and city events in order to give back to the community of which she is so very proud.  Her long family line of Waxahachie graduates also include her grandmother, Joyce Phillips Stewart (Class of '64), and mother Diane Stewart Swanson (Class of '87) as well as many more uncles, aunts and cousins.
